The Palatine Area Community Marching Band will not be performing in the Palatine Independence Day Parade on July 2, 2016. This years participant count did not meet the Park District class minimum requirement, and we were very short in specific instrument sections.
We will regroup, brainstorm on recruiting and advertising, and try again next year! Look for updates here, on our Facebook page, and on the Park District website.
All good things must occasionally take a small pause to rebuild. The Palatine Area Community Marching Band will not be performing in the Palatine Independence Day Parade on July 4, 2015. This years participant count did not meet the Park District class minimum requirement. While we’ve had smaller groups in the past, we also did not have balanced instrumentation this year.
But don’t fret. We plan to be back next year! And tell your musical friends to consider joining our group. The time commitment is short, and we have a great time.
Thanks to all band members for another great year of performances! Here are some highlights from the Palatine parade.
And here’s a picture of the group in Palatine.
UPDATE! Here’s the lost video from our Rolling Meadows performance!
This year the band is marching in two parades! For the first time, the Palatine Area Community Marching Band will be making its debut in the Rolling Meadows parade on July 4th. The parade starts 11:30 AM and runs from the high school to Kirchoff Rd.
Then on Saturday July 6, we make our annual appearance at the Palatine parade. The parade starts at 10 AM. Come watch our precision marching and enjoy our patriotic tunes!
This year we have a pre-parade performance. As part of Make Music Chicago we will playing a few songs at the Palatine Metra station this Friday, June 21 around 6:30. Depending on how the evening goes, we may wander over to the car show that evening too.
Coming home on an express train Friday night? Stop and check us out!
Update: Article in the Patch too.
